Rocket Raccoon Saves the Day

I submitted this for an art contest at the ComicBloc forums. This month’s topic was Marvel’s “Annihilation” crossover event. Essentially, a villain named Annihilus decides to destroy everything, as villains are want to do. His “Annihilation Wave” takes care of a bunch of planets and he even takes out Galactus and the Silver Surfer. In the end, Nova beats him down and does something heinous to him while Thanos and his girlfriend, Death, look on.

In my pic, the story is the same, only Nova fails! Who’s gonna save us? (J.W.) Rocket Raccoon, that’s who. If cartoonish, green organs make you queasy, you may want to skip this one.

Feedback’s welcome! I don’t think this one will make my portfolio and I could use help figuring out why.
