Here’s my submission for Monster Mash 2007 over at Penelope Illustration. Illustration Friday’s “trick or treat” topic, too.

For clarification, the weremoose just finished a tasty peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich. It’s hard to eat a sandwich with your hooves!

Weremoose By Night! 10/24/07

There’s allegedly a large moose population up in Maine, but we didn’t see a single antler on our recent trip. Saw lots of hunters, though. Maybe there’s a correlation.

Anyway, beware the weremoose, for as the saying goes:

Even a man who is pure in heart
and says his prayers by night
may become a [moose] when the [moosebane] blooms
and the autumn moon is bright.

He’s set to sue the US Government over emissions. I think he’s talking about auto emissions, but let’s have a look at tar-laced lung emissions, too. Someday I would like to be able to open my living room windows without smelling the middle-aged chimneys who live in the apartment below us.
