Identify-That-Face Friday!
Thomas Jane, 11/09/07
I’m working on some likenesses for my comic project, and I started to wonder, does this really look anything like this guy? So for fun, let me know who you think this is. Update! Movie Aficionado Andrew Cornell came to the rescue! It’s Thomas Jane, of Punisher, Resident Evil and The Mist fame. Thanks, AC.
From the caricature, I worked out some faces in different styles. I’m doing some Hal Jordan/Green Lantern pages, so I looked up various actors who have been considered by fans for the part for the upcoming movie. I’m hoping the caricatures help inform the comic art, because making the characters recognizable from panel to panel is kind of important (and difficult!)
Faces of Hal Jordan or someone maybe, 11/09/07
Taking a cue from the Team Fortress 2 designs, it would also be cool to have a strong recognizability in shape of the character. This lends itself to exaggeration and cartoony-ism. It all comes back to the cartoony.
Kevin Costner!
Kevin Bacon? (I know it is not him. But I got to type “bacon” and that is all that matters sometimes.)
Honestly, I have no idea who in the hell that is.
Nor would I know Hal Jordan from any other customer at the library. Unless he came in dressed as the Green Lantern. Then I would call security.
The Kevins Costner and Bacon are no, but I appreciate the effort. This really isn’t a very good caricature, hehe.
If Hal walks in, yell, “You killed Coast City!” It’s a little joke and he’ll find it hilarious. Then, hide yourself in something yellow.
I’ll guess Thomas Jane. Eventhough he has one super-hero character under his belt, maybe he’s going for a second.
James Woods? A young Al Gore?
AC is right on! Thanks man, you saved my bacon. It is Thomas Jane. I don’t think he’s up for the role of Green lantern, but I saw him on some recent commercials for the movie “The Mist,” and thought he might be a good fit.
In return, I pimp your blog: The Jerk Forum, where many original, hilarious stories and reviews are posted by a group of friends. Oh, the jocularity that ensues!
