Funeral for a friend
Funeral For a Friend. 01/28/08
My submission for the Channel Frederator “Throwback Thursdays” contest.
There’s a great story in the first 22 issues of the 80s Marvel G.I. Joe comic that follows the Joes dealing with eskimo (inuit?) tracker/mercenary Kwinn. He becomes a “friend” of sorts of Snake Eyes and they cause all sorts of mischief. It ends badly for Kwinn, but he gets some good revenge with “a grenade fallen from a dead man’s hand.”
Snake Eyes and Wild Bill give him a burial at sea, which is the scene for this little illustration here.
When I go to that site to see your submission in their line of submissions, I just see “white space” above where your name is and pic is supposed to be.
Gotta fix that, H-I
Hmm… now when I looked again it shows up. That is really odd.
Anyway, after looking at them all, your piece is top 5 compared to the stuff I was seeing.
Eat more bacon!
This Deepsix got a laugh out of me. Angela’s Scarlet and Bob’s Flint were the best on the board.
Awww, shucks, you just sayin’ dat.
We all pulled out some good entries, and it was fun!
The Zartan cracked me up. It made me remember that my brother had one of those color changing guys. That was major cool toy technology back then!
