Inks of Old Books, 3/19/08
In honor of my dear old Dad, a great appreciator of books both old and new, whose birthday is today, I post this panel of books.
I photographed these books at Ed’s workplace where they have a small room of ancient books of all colors and sizes. What was that really old book again, Ed?

Page 4 of what? Can’t say because I haven’t thunk it all out yet. For now, pretend he’s a leprechaun. Make your St. Patrick’s day merry and bright.
Now, I sentence ye to the wearin’ of the green shoes:
Student and Violinist, ink on watercolor paper, 3/13/08
My next project has to do with old ghost stories, so I’m trying an ink style that will hopefully produce a look of spooky Noir.
Troubles’ Band, pen and ink, 1/1/99?
Here’s an oldie from the paper envelope under the bed, the one with my stuff from college and shortly after, the early years. This is a drawing I did back in 1999, I think, for my Everquest guild, “Troubles’ Band,” for the guild website. I bet Ed or eFlo could name these guys. I only know the name of the barbarian shaman (the guy with the horns on his hat.)
I did several pieces in this style that I’ll post in a bit. Obviously, I was really into Mignola at the time that I did these, which, looking back, isn’t a bad influence at all. Maybe I’ll color these up.
